Start with public NYC construction filings
Scoutt imports a rolling window of NYC Department of Buildings filings and screens commercial fit-outs and related work. Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island are covered by the source. An import adds candidates to the research queue; it does not automatically turn them into verified customer leads.
Find the specific proposed work
A broad description such as “alteration” is only a starting point. Research looks for named activities such as new partitions, floor finishes, built-in cabinetry, HVAC installation or sprinkler work. Supported briefs include exact source wording and a link to the original record. Inferred needs stay separately labelled.
For example, a restaurant filing at 272 Bleecker Street describes “new partitions, ceilings, finishes, and built-in cabinetry.” A Brooklyn store filing describes knee walls and millwork. These are actual examples from the public lead previews.
Identify the business and preserve its role
Public business contacts are checked against the project, address or appointment. An operator, owner or property manager, appointed trade contractor and designer have different roles. A company switchboard is labelled as a switchboard; a trade contractor’s appointment does not establish authority over other trades.
Missing contacts and unresolved matches stay visible. Scoutt does not infer purchasing authority from a phone number or promise that every project has a reachable buyer.
Filter construction leads by your trade
Members can filter the research dashboard by supplier category, inspect documented work and rank projects by available information. Commercial renovation work can involve interior finishes, partitions, cabinetry, doors, mechanical systems and fire protection. Multiple categories can belong to one filing, and several filings can concern the same property.
Use a reviewed feed with visible dates
Daily cloud imports collect new filing candidates. Reviewed research is published when the operator completes and verifies it. The dashboard shows its actual import window and research dates, so you can assess the age and completeness of an entry. Scoutt provides research rather than outreach, awarded contracts or a guaranteed daily supply of newly reviewed leads.
